77kg-Nick Patterson v Sam Igor of Sydney. Nick won at the bell of 1st rd via RNC. Excellent return after suffering a loss a month ago.
84kg-Roberto Fernandes v Nick Mann a late fill in as Vik Grujic had a tough training injury the week before the fight. Nick Mann dominated w/ a strong Thai clinch finishing Roberto w/ a knee right down the middle to the face.
70kg-Anthony"Oil Can" Cowley v Jake Mathews. This was fight of the night and could have gone either way. Anthony came away w/ the split Dec. Jake showed excellent skill + energy - Anthony would just not be submitted and escaped all of Jake's attempted. Fast paced and great fun to be an MMA fan on Sat Night!!
60kg-The very 1st Female sanctioned MMA fight in Victoria had Meg Gallagher v Sarah Morrison of Sydney. Good battle that had Meg + Sarah display a great level of skill + spirit! Fantastic to witness Mixed Martial Arts history in the state of Victoria! Meg ended the fight taking Sarah's back and some great GnP at the bell. Meg won the fight for the VICs. Unam Dec.
During the day Daniel Browne + Paul Morello had amateur fights and showed the spirit of warriors. Dan won w/ a slam + Paul lost a tough 1 getting caught in a guillotine at the end of rd3 after dominating the wrestling range.
